What Steps & Scripture is

A peer-support tool for people working a 12-step program, with an AI sponsor grounded in the Big Book, the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, and the Bible. It supports — and never replaces — meetings, a human sponsor, church, counseling and medical care.

It is not medical care, therapy or a treatment program, and it's not for emergencies. If you're in danger, call 911. If you're thinking about suicide, call or text 988. Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous — see a doctor or go to the ER.

Your AI sponsor

Your sponsor is an AI. It can be wrong, including about what the literature says — check quotes in your own copy. Don't rely on it for medical, legal or financial decisions, and talk risky amends over with your human sponsor or pastor first.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account.

Plus subscriptions

New accounts get a free welcome month with no card. After that, the free plan includes your counter, chips, daily plan, reminders, Big Book reading, step worksheets, crisis help, and 5 sponsor messages a week.

Plus is $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, billed by Apple or Google. It renews automatically until you cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings, at least 24 hours before it renews. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules.

Plus includes a fair-use limit on AI sponsor time, which is plenty for daily use.

Using it well

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break it, get around limits, or use it to harm anyone. Don't invite someone as an accountability partner without their knowledge — they'll get an email asking them to accept.

Big Book passages shown in the app are from the 1939 first edition of Alcoholics Anonymous, which is in the public domain; page numbers refer to the fourth edition. Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions is © Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc., and is quoted briefly for discussion.

Your content

What you write is yours. You let us store and process it only to run the app for you, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.

The legal part

The app is provided as it is, without guarantees. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the past 12 months.

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app first.
